Daryl's Pilates

Hi, my name is Daryl, I was born in 1958 and brought up in Surrey.  I attended university in Huddersfield and studied Textile Design.  I met my husband while at university and together we moved to Hemel Hempstead, where we still live today.  I became interested in fitness and started going to aerobics classes.  I attended classes through my first pregnancy, by which time the company where I worked as a textile designer, went into liquidation.  I studied and achieved my first fitness qualification in 1989 gaining an exercise to music qualification.

After the birth of my second daughter I worked as a Sports Development officer locally.  Within this role I was involved with many fitness related projects and programmes in the community. I was part of a team offering a large community exercise programme for mothers with creche facilities too, classes for older adults, fitness and nutrition for children in primary school and specialist programmes for overweight children, and their parents.  I continued to pursue my instructor role as well. 

My passion was my teaching role which I developed over the years, gaining several other fitness qualifications.

In 2008 I gained my pilates qualification and started teaching locally.  I found this to be the perfect combination to work along side cardio conditioning and HITT classes.

When I'm not teaching or exercising myself I enjoy spending time with my family, being in the garden and going for walks with our family dog.
